Implant Supported Bridges

An implant-supported bridge replaces multiple missing teeth by anchoring a prosthetic bridge to dental implants (titanium posts) surgically placed in your jawbone, offering a stable, natural-looking, and long-lasting solution that preserves adjacent teeth by not requiring them to be filed down, unlike traditional bridges. It provides excellent stability for eating and speaking, prevents jawbone loss, and is a cost-effective way to restore function and aesthetics when several teeth are gone, requiring a multi-step process of implant placement, healing, and bridge attachment.

How They Work

  • Implant Placement: Titanium implants (posts) are surgically placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing.
  • Healing (Osseointegration): Time is needed for the bone to fuse with the implants (several months).
  • Abutment Attachment: Posts (abutments) are attached to the implants.
  • Bridge Placement: A custom bridge with artificial teeth (pontics) is fabricated and connected to the abutments, creating a fixed unit.
